Our story.
Reel Construction was founded in 1976 and has been part of the Reno/Sparks community ever since. Today, the company is led by Matt Caviglia — a fourth-generation Nevadan and University of Nevada, Reno graduate — who grew up on his father Dennis's jobsites before joining the business full-time in 2015.
What's stayed constant across four generations is the standard: careful work, clean jobsites, straight answers, and long-term relationships with the homeowners we build for. Matt Caviglia
Matt joined Reel Construction full-time in 2015 after 17 years as a Project Inspector in the engineering industry, working on major projects including the I-580 Freeway and the Tesla Gigafactory. A 4th generation Nevadan and University of Nevada, Reno graduate (Supply Chain Management, 2004), Matt grew up in the construction industry working summers for Reel with his father Dennis. Attention to detail and customer service are his biggest priorities.
Geoff Board
Geoff has been in the construction industry since the early 1970s — spanning remodeling, restoration, construction design, drafting, and production housing. He was a founding member of a local construction company in the 1980s, worked with a major home developer in the 1990s, and came home to Reel Construction in 2001. An Iowa transplant who has called Sparks home since 1979, Geoff is committed to helping clients restore their property to pre-loss condition, or better, in a timely manner.
Craig Whitt
Craig started at Reel Construction as a laborer in 1999, moving up to carpenter in 2001, and to superintendent in 2004. He then worked at Belfor from 2007 to 2025 as a project manager, operations manager, and estimator. He rejoined the Reel Construction team as superintendent in March 2025. Craig has been a Reno resident for over 30 years.
Tiffany Plowman
Tiffany joined Reel Construction in 2024. She's worked hand-in-hand with the construction industry for over 10 years, including 11 years at Harbor Freight and 2 years as an electrician before joining the Reel Construction team. She was born and raised in Reno.
